Olena worked on online education project for the one of the world’s leading semiconductor manufacturing companies with more than 20,000 employees. Olena improved a data collection pipeline for Open edX course polls. She introduced various types of polls and surveys, implemented the data collection pipeline to provide for a platform-wide comparison of polls to assess courses quality and students’ perception of online courses. Team size was seven people. Project duration was 12 months. Technologies included JS React, Python, and JavaScript.
Before this, Olena contributed to the enhancement of a web portal serving more than one million users. The key project challenges were poor search performance and no integration with the mobile application. Olena was responsible for geospatial search, push notifications system with enhanced user analytics; integration and development of RESTful API for mobile clients. She used Python, Django, Django REST Framework, JavaScript, jQuery, Solr, Redis, MongoDB, and beanstalkd. Project duration was six months. Team size was nine people.
Previously, Olena worked as a Python developer intern in Université Lumière Lyon 2, France. The internship was held at the scientific laboratory ERIC (Entrepôts, Représentation et Ingénierie des Connaissances; Data Mining & Knowledge Management team) in Lyon. The author disambiguation pipeline (datapath, RESTful API) was implemented for an application dedicated to scientific papers monitoring. Olena used Python, Django REST Framework, luigi, and a custom third-party library on named entity recognition. Project duration was 13 months.
